General Lee's favorite cookies

" __Julia Child "Cooking is a creation." __Piero Selvaggio "'Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers." __William Shakespeare ______________________________________General Lee's Favorite Cookies Ingredients: 3 sticks butter 1/2 cup molasses 2 cups white sugar 2 large eggs 4 cups flour 4 teaspoons soda 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon cloves Instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 350�. 2) Melt the butter and add the molasses, sugar and eggs. Beat well. 3) Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger and clove, and add to moloasses mixture. Combine thoroughly. 4) Refrigerate for several hours. 5) One teaspoonful at a time, roll the dough into small balls, then roll the balls in additional white suger. 6) Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 1 and 1/2 inches apart. 6) Bake 'til firm and brown, approximately eight to ten minutes. Makes about 10 dozen cookies.
