" __Julia Child "Cooking is a creation." __Piero Selvaggio "'Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers." __William Shakespeare ______________________________________Sunshine Brownies Ingredients for brownies: 1/2 cup butter 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate 1 and 3/4 cup white sugar 4 eggs 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Ingredients for icin': 1/4 cup butter 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate 2 cups confectioners' sugar 1 egg 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 and 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 cup pecans, chopped Instructions for brownies: 1) Preheat oven to 350�. Grease and flour a 9x13" pan. 2) Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan. Set aside to cool. 3) Alternately add sugar and eggs [one at a time] to the chocolate mixture, beatin' well after each addition. 4) Add flour and vanilla, mixin' well. 5) Pour batter prepared pan and bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or 'til brownies are just startin' to pull away from sides of pan. *Don't over-bake. Instructions for icin': 1) Melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan. 2) Sift 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar, then add to butter and chocolate mixture, combinin' thoroughly. 3) Add the egg, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Blend well. 4) Stir in the chopped pecans. 5) This icin' hardens as it cools. Add more or less confectioners' sugar to adjust thickness. 6) Spread icin' over cooled brownies.
