The followin' recipe makes 3 dozen. Cherry Chocolate Charmers Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter-flavored Crisco shortenin' 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup sour cream 1 egg 1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon bakin' soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/3 cup marashino cherries, well drained and chopped Instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 375�. 2) In a large bowl, cream together, Crisco, brown sugar, and white sugar 'til light and fluffy. 3) Add sour cream, egg, cherry juice, and vanilla extract, beatin' well after each addition. 4) In a separate bowl, combine flour, bakin' soda, and salt. 5) Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and beat 'til thoroughly blended. 6) Stir in the chocolate chips, chopped pecans, and chopped maraschino cherries. 7) Drop dough by rounded tablespoons full onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 2" apart. 8) Bake for ten to twelve minutes, or 'til set. 9) Cook on cookie sheets for about two minutes, then remove to wire racks.
