" __Julia Child "Cooking is a creation." __Piero Selvaggio "'Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers." __William Shakespeare ______________________________________Maple Biscuits Ingredients: 4 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons bakin' powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons butter, chilled not softened 1/3 cup whole milk Instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 375�. 2) Pour melted butter and maple syrup into a 9" cake pan, swirlin' it around to combine. 3) In a mixin' bowl, stir together the flour, bakin' powder, and salt. 4) Cut in the cold butter, then mix, usin' you fingers, 'til the dough has the consistency of soft bread crumbs. 5) Stir in the milk. 6) Turn the dough out and knead it gently, just 'til it holds together. 7) Pat dough to 1/2" thickness, then cut into 9 biscuits. 8) Arrange the biscuits in the cake pan on top of the butter and syrup mixture. 9) Bake for twelve to fifteen minutes, 'til the syrup bubbles and the biscuits are lightly browned. 10) Serve hot, straight from the pan.
