Cheerful Cherry Fudge Pie

Ingredients for pie:
unbaked 9" pie crust
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2/3 cup blanched almonds, ground
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 eggs, separated
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup white sugar

Ingredients for toppin':
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup canned cherry pie fillin'

Instructions:
1) Preheat 350�. Prepare a 9" pie shell.
2) Melt 3/4 cup butter in medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
3) Stir in 3/4 cup white sugar and 6 tablespoons cocoa.
4) Remove from heat and cool for five minutes.
5) Stir in ground almonds and flour.
6) Usin' a wooden spoon, thoroughly beat in the egg yolks,
one at a time.
7) Stir in 2 tablespoons water.
8) Beat egg whites in a separate bowl 'til foamy.
9) Continue beatin' egg whites, gradually addin' 1/4 cup white sugar,
'til soft peaks form.
10) Gently fold the cocoa mixture into the egg white mixture.
11) Pour fillin' into prepared pie shell.
12) Bake for forty to fifty minutes or 'til a toothpick inserted in the
center comes out clean. Cool for five minutes.
13) In a medium-sized bowl, stir together the sour cream,
2 tablespoons white sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
14) Spread over warm pie and top with spoons full of cherry pie fillin'.
15) Bake for five more minutes.
16) If desired, drizzle Vanilla Glaze over top of pie.

Vanilla Glaze

Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 and 1/2 teaspoons milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon butter

Instructions:
1) Melt the butter and add to rest of ingredients.
2) Mix 'til creamy.
