" __Julia Child "Cooking is a creation." __Piero Selvaggio "'Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers." __William Shakespeare ______________________________________Creamed Corn Cornbread Ingredients: 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 1 cup yellow cornmeal 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons white sugar 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon bakin' powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 [8 ounce size] can creamed corn 1 cup whole milk 1 large egg, well beaten Instructions: 1) Preheat the oven to 450�. 2) Pour 2 tablespoons of the melted butter into a 9" cake pan and put the pan in the oven for five minutes. 3) While the pan is gettin' hot, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, bakin' powder, and salt. 4) Make a well in the center of the combined dry ingredients and pour in the creamed corn, milk, egg, and remainin' 2 tablespoons butter. 5) Stir 'til smooth. 6) Pour the batter into the hot [very hot!] cake pan. 7) Bake for about thirty to thirty-five minutes, or 'til the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 8) Remove the bread from the oven and let it stand for ten to fifteen minutes, prior to servin'.
