" __Julia Child "Cooking is a creation." __Piero Selvaggio "'Tis an ill cook that cannot lick his own fingers." __William Shakespeare ______________________________________Apple Pie Cake Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup white sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 cup self-risin' flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups chopped Red Delicious apples 1/2 cup chopped pecans Instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 350�F. Grease a 9" pie plate. 2) Melt butter in a saucepan, then remove from heat. 3) Mix in the sugar and egg. 4) Stir in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla extract, apples, and pecans. 5) Spread batter in prepared pan. 6) Bake forty to forty-five minutes, or 'til a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. 7) Serve warm with ice cream or whipped toppin' and additional chopped pecans sprinkled on top.
