Minty Melon Salad

Ingredients:
1 cup water
3/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons lime juice
1 and 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh mint
3/4 teaspoon aniseed
pinch of salt
5 cups cubed watermelon
3 cups cubed cantaloupe
3 cups cubed honeydew melon
2 cups fresh sliced peaches
1 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions:
1) Bring the water, sugar, lime juice, mint, aniseed, and salt
to a boil in a small saucepan.
2) Boil for two minutes, then remove from heat.
3) Cover and cool syrup completely.
4) Combine the fruit in a large bowl, then add the cooled syrup
and stir to coat.
5) Cover and chill for three to four hours, stirrin' occasionally.
6) Drain before servin'.
