It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." __Harriet Van Horne ______________________________________Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies Ingredients: 1 cup white sugar 1 cup butter, softened 1 [3 ounce size] package cream cheese, softened 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg yolk [reserve the egg white 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Instructions: 1) In a large bowl combine the sugar, butter, cream cheese, salt, almond extract, vanilla extract, and egg yolk --- blendin' thoroughly. 2) Stir in the flour and mix 'til well blended. 3) Chill the dough overnight. 4) Preheat oven to 375�. 5) On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough [one third at a time] to 1/8 inch thickness, refrigeratin' the remainin' dough 'til you're ready to cut it. 6) Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutters. 7) Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. 8) Brush the cookies with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with coloured sugar. 9) Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, 'til light and golden brown.
