Chocolate Chip Meringue Cookies

Ingredients:
4 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 cups white sugar
2 and 1/3 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:
1) Preheat the oven to 300�.
2) Cover cookie sheets with parchment paper
~ or ~ cut the sides of a clean paper grocery bag to fit cookie sheets.
3) Beat the egg whites in a cool bowl 'til just foamy.
4) Add the salt and cream of tartar, beatin' 'til soft peaks form.
5) Gradually add the sugar, beatin' 'til stiff peaks form.
6) Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
7) Drop the dough onto the paper by rounded teaspoons.
Be sure to keep 'em at least one inch apart.
8) Bake for twenty five minutes,
'til the cookies are set and very lightly browned.
9) Cool before servin'.
Yield: 4 dozen
