It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." __Harriet Van Horne ______________________________________Chipper Blackberry Crisp Ingredients for toppin': 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon bakin' powder 1 egg, beaten Ingredients for fillin': 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 3/4 cup white sugar 1 stick unsalted butter, melted 5 cups fresh or frozen blackberries Preheat oven to 375�. Butter an 8x8" glass bakin' dish. Instructions for toppin': 1) Combine flour, sugar, and bakin' powder in a mixin' bowl. 2) Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and blend in the egg. 3) Mix 'til crumbly, then set aside. Instructions for fillin': 1) Combine the flour and sugar. 2) Add the blackberries, and toss gently 'til blackberries are evenly coated. 3) Put the berry fillin' in the prepared bakin' dish. 4) Crumble the toppin' over the berries. 5) Drizzle melted butter over the toppin'. 6) Set the dish on a bakin' sheet to catch any spill-overs and bake for forty-five minutes. 7) Garnish with whipped creme, if desired.
